For most people surveillance systems are synonymous with home and business protection, as well as public safety. There are however a number of other possible uses for surveillance equipment that you might not think about. Let’s go over a few of these more out of the box ideas and how a surveillance system may be able to help you in non security related applications.
Hunting & Animal Observation
Need to keep an eye on your bait pile for signs of activity? Want to monitor multiple hunting stands for high traffic, to determine where to set out each morning? With a surveillance system you can do this and more! Imagine the ability to have a surveillance camera at your bait piles and hunting stands weeks before hunting season. This way you can take notes of the traffic patterns and high activity spots of your prey. This in turn will lead to a higher evaluation of where to go and increase your percentages for landing the big buck.
Of course you don’t have to be a hunter to appreciate the application of animal watching. Maybe you want to be able to watch your local wildlife in its natural habitat without disturbing the area; or maybe you just want something you can use to keep an eye on your livestock or more domesticated animals. Either way a surveillance system can provide that solution you’ve been looking for.
Farming & Livestock Observation
Own large tracts of land? Have a farm with crops and/or livestock that needs to monitored? As we mentioned in passing earlier, you can use a surveillance system to watch all of this when you don’t have the time to check out a specific part of your land. Additionally if you farm large tracts of land with acres upon acres of crops; a surveillance system can offer an expedited way to view and evaluate your crop growth from a centralized location or when your away on business.
House Rental & Landlord Maintenance
Do you own multiple properties or at least one rental unit? Do you live further away than you’d care to drive every time a maintenance issue arises? If any of this is true, then a surveillance system may be just the ticket to help alleviate some of the stress. The idea is to install a small wireless surveillance system that you can teach your renter to operate whenever something is amiss or a maintenance issue arises on your property. They can simply turn on and point the camera at the problem, and then have you login remotely to determine the proper course of action for said issue.
This can save both you and the renter precious time in getting the problem resolved, and it makes for a happier and better renter as well. Of course on top of all that the system can be used for property protection if desired.
These are just a few unusual uses for surveillance equipment, and there are even more that you may never have thought possible. So take a look around and assess your situation and applications, and maybe you’ll find how a surveillance system can benefit your life.
