Standard security cameras with average 380TVL resolution images not enough for your surveillance applications? Need something with more of an oomph and able to take more detailed pictures? With the surge of HD products in the marketplace and new and more exciting HD gadgets and gizmos coming out every day, it was inevitable that it would reach the surveillance industry.
Now slowly creeping into the marketplace are a range of HD security cameras and DVRs (Digital Video Recorders) ready to take surveillance through the next leap (hoping its the final leap home).
In fact their are some high quality and prominent manufacturers such as KT&C that have released a bevy of new HD cctv products including 1.3 and 2.1 megapixel 720P and 1080P / i security cameras and DVRs.
As you plan out your surveillance system and what it is going to need to do; it may be time to think about an HD setup and if it would be the best bang for your buck.
One thing to point out however is the cost. HD cctv products are still relatively new to the market and they are definitely on the more costly end of the surveillance spectrum for the time being.
